ANNUAL MEETING JUNE 5 Among the items on the agenda for the meeting is a vote by the congregation on amendments to the Constitution and Bylaws to bring us into compliance with the ELCA Model Constitution.  Several copies of the revisions are available at the Information Desk. LEGACY PLANNING SEMINAR SATURDAY – What kind of legacy do you want to leave? Do you have a will, living trust, power of attorney, and medical directives to make sure your end of life wishes are carried out?  What conversations should you have with your children and other family members about these issues? Does the church or pastor know what kind of funeral or memorial service you desire, what your favorite hymns are? An informative presentation sponsored by the Cross of Christ Endowment Board will be held on Saturday from 9 am to noon. A sign-up sheet is available at the Information Desk. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE TOWEL DRIVE – Our Sunday School students’ Spring CLEANing Towel Drive collected over 120 towels, which were delivered this week to the Compass Housing Alliance in Seattle this past week; they will be used in their shelter programs.

 THIRD SATURDAY HIKERS – Our next outing is Saturday, May 21, and it will be to tour the Wild Horse Wind Farm, east of Ellensburg.  This hike features easy walking and beautiful views, including fascinating up close and person views of the giant windmills.  Questions? Ask Erik Paulson: ErikPaulsonCC@Comcast.net

TANZANIA TEAM MISSION Part of our mission is to bring needed items to the girl’s school. We are asking for donations for the following items: jewelry findings- stainless steel/ sterling silver earring hooks, barrel clasps, O-rings, (these can be found at JoAnne Fabric, Michaels with coupons), battery -operated smoke alarms for dormitories (can be found at Costco, First Alert that are good for 10 years), school supplies such as new pencils, new pink erasers, rulers, black pens, compasses, protractors (found at Dollars stores), and stethoscopes. EASTSIDE WINTER SHELTER FOR WOMEN AND FAMILIES – The current shelter is at Overlake Park Presbyterian, 1836 156th Ave NE, Bellevue.  Meals are still needed. Contact them via www.tinyurl.com/wintershelter15-16. The shelter is also in need of feminine hygiene products, diapers of all sizes, and blankets, which can be dropped off at Overlake Park Presbyterian.

QUILTS AND PERSONAL CARE KITS SUNDAY RECAP AND THANK YOU – Thanks for supporting Cross of Christ’s Quilting ministry. Following Quilt Sunday last week, 113 quilts were distributed to: Baby Corner (12), Sophia Way (8), Compass Alliance (35), Congregations for the Homeless (9), and Lutheran World Relief (49). Personal Care Kits totaled 156 this year and all go to Lutheran World Relief.  Thanks to you, 156 people will feel better.  Please join us if you would like to help. Our next shipment is in six months.  We are in need of bottom sheets (colored) and transportation to deliver the quilts and kits. There are many hands doing the work, but we’d love more!  We tie quilts on 2nd and 4th Mondays, 10am to 2pm. Bring a lunch.
