What’s Happening at CofC: Week of 3/13/16

ADULT FAITH FORMATION – We’re continuing our series titled “Ephesians: A Study in Unity.” Pastor Dave is leading this six-part series through the letter the Apostle Paul wrote to the churches of Ephesus focusing on the uniting and reconciling mission of Jesus Christ. You’re invited to come to this uplifting, energetic time of learning in the Library between worship services on Sundays, beginning at approximately 10:15 and ending at 10:55.

BELLEVUE GIRLCHOIR CONCERT – Darcy Morrissey, Director of Bellevue Girlchoir which rehearses each Monday and Wednesday here at Cross of Christ, invites the congregation to “A Day in the Life,” a concert featuring John Rutter’s “Mass of the Children,” presented by the Bellevue Chamber Chorus Concert and featuring both the Bellevue Girlchoir and Boychoir, this Saturday at 7 pm, at Bellevue Presbyterian Church. See the flyer on the bulletin board outside the Library for more details.

YOUTH QUAKE THIS WEEKEND – Our Middle and High School students joined hundreds of other Lutheran teens from around the state and region for a weekend filled with high-energy worship, interesting break-out learning sessions, service project and tons of fun at Youth Quake, a Lutheran youth retreat in Olympia that began Friday evening and wraps up this morning.

CHILDREN’S FAITH FORMATION/SUNDAY SCHOOL – for age 3-3rd grade continues! Our Faith Formation program is designed for children to be able to drop in any time they happen to be here. Right now we are taking a Lenten journey that will end with the joyful celebration of Easter. We’d love to have your child join us!

LENTEN SOUP SUPPERS – This is our last Wednesday for Lenten soup suppers. Join us at 6 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Our final Midweek Lenten service will follow at 7 pm in the Sanctuary. Thank you to all who provided the delicious soups and other food this year!.

LIGHTING PROJECT UPDATE – Significant progress was made this week! Most of the installation is completed, although several details remain to be worked out. Next steps include adjusting light levels and direction as well as learning the impressive programming capabilities of the system. Thanks for your patience during the installation process.

Needed are light-weight, dark color bath towels (20″ x 40″ to 27″x 52 “) and bath-size soaps (4 – 5 oz.) in original wrapping. Nail clippers, combs and toothbrushes are purchased in bulk, so money donations are most appreciated. Money for shipping is always welcome as well.
