ADVENT SMORGASBORD – Join us today after service for the Advent Smorgasbord.

ADVENT FAITH FORMATION –Beginning Sunday, December 6, join Pastor Adrienne in the Library about 10 minutes after the service for Advent Faith Formation. We will look at themes of: Patience (December 6), Gifts of Speech and Silence (December 13), and the Gift of Hope (December 20).

SHARE YOUR CRECHE – Do you have a crèche or nativity set that you would be willing to share with your church family for the seasons of Advent and Christmas? This year, we’d like to display several different nativity sets in the Sanctuary from November 29 to January 3. Of special interest would be sets from around the world representing different cultures. While we will take great care of your loaned crèche, they will be on display, so very valuable or fragile sets are best shared at your home. But if you have a set of any size that you would be willing to share for the season or for one Sunday, please contact Pastor Dave pastordave@cofclc.net

ADVENT EVENSONG – As we usher in a new church season Cross of Christ will be hosting an Advent evensong experience on Friday, December 4, at 8pm. This will be an evening of music, poetry and liturgy all centered around our waiting and anticipation for the coming Messiah. The music will be provided by professional musicians from the greater Seattle area, many of whom have contributed to worship here at Cross of Christ in the past. Admission is free! Any donations, while not required, are welcome and will all go towards the Cross of Christ Music Ministries.

MUSIC MINISTRIES – Thank you again from the Music Ministries at Cross of Christ for your support of our work. Anyone who feels encouraged to give towards our efforts going into Christmas and Easter, please designate your gifts to the Music Ministries at Cross of Christ, either on your check or envelope. Thank you and God Bless!

HOPELINK GIVING TREE – The giving tree is now in the Narthex. Please help a disadvantaged child by taking a tag from the tree. The age and gender of a child will be shown on the tag and some suggested gift items will be listed on the back of the tag. Thank you for remembering teenagers as well as the younger children. Please bring back your new gift unwrapped and place it under the tree either Sunday, December 6 or Sunday, December 13. The gifts will be taken to Hopelink and given to children in need. Thank you for your support.

ARK HOLIDAY BASKET FUNDRAISER – On December 6 and December 13 Ark holiday baskets will be for sale in the Narthex after each service. These baskets make perfect Christmas gifts (already wrapped) for anyone on your list, and you can be a double blessing by buying one or two for the Giving Tree! As part of its annual fundraising, The Ark community creates and sells holiday baskets to the Cross of Christ congregation. In past years The Ark has used the money raised to provide tuition assistance for Ark families temporarily struggling through tough economic times. Fundraising money has also been used to purchase some of the classroom tools and resources. We plan to devote a portion of the money raised this year to our scholarship fund. Thrivent for Lutherans, a non-profit life, annuity, and loan company that donates their profits back to church fundraising events, will give $250. Look forward to seeing you on the 6th & 13th!

THE CROSS OF CHRIST YOUTH ARE HOLDING A COAT DRIVE! Please bring your gently-loved coats to the Narthex between now and December 6; they’ll be keeping Bellevue-area families warm this winter. Thank you for your support!

LABELS FOR EDUCATION – We collect Campbell’s soup, Franco American, Swanson broth and Campbell’s beans labels to benefit neighborhood schools. Leave your labels at the Information Center. All that is needed is the small portion from the back of the can with the words: ‘EARN 1 POINT’ and include the barcode next to it. The front label is no longer used. Contact : Dorinda Otto for more information.

LOST AND FOUND – As we near the end of the year, we’ll be clearing out the Lost and Found and Will Call drawers in the Information Desk, as well as donating any unclaimed coats and jackets to charity. Please claim any items that belong to you!
